Marco-Alexander Breit

Marco-Alexander Breit, born in 1981, studied Political Science, Sociology, and Medieval and Modern History at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg as well as International Political Economy at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. From 2008 to 2014, he held various positions in the State Chancellery of Saarland, including Head of the Office of the Chief of the State Chancellery and Minister for Federal, Cultural and Media Affairs, and from 2011, Head of the Office of Minister-President Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. From April 2014, he served as Personal Advisor to the Chief of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks, Peter Altmaier. From April 2018 to July 2019, Mr. Breit headed the Digital Policy Principles and Coordination Department at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Since August 2019, he has been leading the Artificial Intelligence Task Force at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Since February 2022 he has been Deputy Director General for Artificial Intelligence, Data and Digital Technologies in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
