Prospects for quantum utility in the energy sector

The energy sector is currently undergoing an unprecedented digital transformation. To enable the integration of locally generated renewable energies, more efficiently transfer and trade energy, and mitigate overall grid congestion, quantum computing may be the defining technology to solve some of the most pressing complex problems involved in these processes. In this talk, we provide a high level summary of prospective application areas in the energy sector which may demonstrate quantum utility.
