Inside OVHcloud: 3 Questions for Benjamin Revcolevschi, CEO, OVHcloud
In this edition of our “3 Questions” series, we spoke with Benjamin Revcolevschi, CEO of OVHcloud and confirmed speaker at the AI & Data and Quantum Summit 2025. He explains how the European cloud provider is shaping its innovation strategy around Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing – with a strong focus on accessibility, sustainability, and sovereignty.
1. How do Artificial Intelligence and/or Quantum Computing influence your company’s strategy for driving digital transformation and innovation?
AI and Quantum are two breakthrough technologies with immense potential. At OVHcloud, our ambition is to democratize access to these technologies through our cloud services.
For Quantum, this means offering Quantum as a Service since 2022. The portfolio includes several emulators already, and by 2027 we will offer access to eight different quantum computers. We’re also preparing for the security implications of quantum by integrating post-quantum cryptography into our SSL certificates.
On the AI side, we’ve made targeted investments to meet growing customer demand and position OVHcloud as a European alternative. Our AI portfolio spans compute capabilities and managed services with ready-to-use AI models.
2. What are the main challenges you encounter when integrating AI and/or Quantum technologies in your solutions, and how do you overcome them?
AI evolves at an incredibly fast pace. Keeping up requires highly skilled teams – which we’re fortunate to have.
Another major challenge is energy consumption. At OVHcloud, we’ve pioneered water-cooling technology for over 20 years. It’s now a key enabler for powering the latest GPUs sustainably. Combined with our industrial model, this gives us a real advantage in delivering AI at scale, efficiently and responsibly.
Quantum, on the other hand, is still largely in the R&D phase. Progress depends on strong partnerships, deep collaboration, and a robust ecosystem to bridge the gap between research and industrial-scale application.
3. How do you ensure the security and trustworthiness of your AI and/or Quantum-based solutions, particularly regarding data protection?
Data protection and sovereignty are foundational to OVHcloud’s model. Our services comply with the highest security standards and are immune to extraterritorial laws – meaning foreign authorities cannot access our customers’ data.
Crucially, we don’t access or use customer data for training or fine-tuning AI models. Both our AI and Quantum offerings run on sovereign OVHcloud infrastructure, enabling users to work in a trusted and secure environment.
