Rickey E. Carter, Ph.D., is Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences at Mayo Clinic in Florida, where he leads the Digital Innovation Lab. His research sits at the intersection of data science and traditional biostatistical methods, with a focus on AI algorithm development and cardiac digital biomarkers.
He also provides strategic oversight for Mayo Clinic's quantum computing and sensing strategy. Dr. Carter has authored more than 450 journal articles and abstracts. He is the past statistical editor for the European Heart Journal, currently serves as an editor of Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Digital Health, and is a member of the European Society of Cardiology Journal Family Ethics Committee. He also serves as a board member of the Clinical Research Forum.
