Carmen Schmidt

Carmen Schmidt is a member of the management board of the VW Group's own company “AI-LAB” and is also head of “Strategic Partnership and Policy Management” at the Volkswagen Group, one of the world's leading car manufacturers. Previously, she was a member of the management board of a VW-owned Group company, where she was responsible for legal advice on data licensing and legal data governance/regulation in addition to setting up the company. Ms. Schmidt began her professional career as a lawyer specializing in IT, competition and data law at an in-house consulting firm of the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin and as Head of Legal at a leading provider of legal tech solutions in southern Germany.
