EU Quantum Strategy
In May 2025, the European Commission launched a Call for Evidence to support the development of its EU Quantum Strategy. The objective is to position Europe as a global leader in quantum technologies – by aligning research, infrastructure, and industrial policy across quantum computing, communication, and sensing in a coherent manner.
Bitkom explicitly welcomes the Commission’s ambition and supports a forward-looking, strategically coordinated approach. To succeed, the strategy must overcome fragmentation, promote the scaling of market-ready applications, and secure Europe’s competitiveness and technological sovereignty in a global context.
