AI in Action Stage

Presentation

The healthcare system faces the challenge of ensuring access to medical care and improving quality. At the same time, the expectations of patients, doctors and pharmacies for fast and reliable communication are rising, while demographic change and a shortage of skilled labour are increasing the need for digital solutions. AI solutions can be used to meet these requirements.

The use of chatbots and voicebots aims to support communication and the exchange of information between patients, practices and medical service providers. This includes daily and standardised processes such as follow-up requests, requests for findings, maternity pass requests, call-back requests, ordering materials and ordering transport services. Making appointments by telephone, with digital provision and checking of the referral slip and medical history form with digital signature, also offers enormous potential. Medical staff can also be supported with an AI companion. This provides service staff with immediate assistance for the current conversation. For example, relevant information and notes on work instructions, information about the caller and much more. AI solutions can be flexibly integrated into existing system landscapes and thus offer a seamless connection to existing IT structures. The aim is to achieve a high success rate in processing automated enquiries while ensuring comprehensive handover so that complex issues and emergencies can be seamlessly transferred to employees.

Project work has shown that AI-supported chat and voicebots considerably simplify administrative processes and achieve significant results in terms of increasing efficiency and relieving the burden on healthcare professionals, who have more time for individual care.
