Ursula Maria Mayer is an award-winning computational scientist, engineer, and serial entrepreneur. She has a decade of experience in high-performance computing (HPC), specializing in developing massively parallel numerical simulations for engineering and physics applications. She leveraged Europe’s most powerful supercomputers while working with leading research institutions such as ETH Zurich’s Institute of Environmental Engineering (IfU) and the German Aerospace Center. During this time, she also co-founded a company that pioneered advanced environmental engineering simulations and numerical methods in close collaboration with IfU at ETH Zurich. In 2015, she transitioned into AI, founding her current consulting company in 2017. Her firm specializes in building large-scale AI systems for sectors like supply chain, logistics, and energy. These solutions often integrate HPC and Quantum Computing (QC), with a consistent focus on ethical and sustainable innovation. Since 2021, Ursula has also been a university lecturer in Switzerland, covering topics such as quantum computing, quantum machine learning as well as sustainability in AI and QC.
