Robert Raussendorf is a theoretical physicist, working on foundations of quantum computation. He co-invented measurement-based quantum computation, and invented a fault-tolerant scheme for universal quantum computation on 3D cluster states. He got his PhD from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich in 2003, was postdoc at Caltech and Perimeter Institute, and professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, from 2008 to 2023. He is Humboldt Professor at Leibniz University Hannover since 2023.
