Prof Dr Claudia Müller-Birn

Since 2019, she has led the Human-Centered Computing research group at Freie Universität Berlin. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, supported by a Feodor Lynen Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Her research advances AI user interface design in healthcare to better support human decision-making. With her team, she develops and assesses design interventions that investigate the roles of automation, friction, and decision aids in healthcare contexts. She also creates innovative methodological approaches for the participatory development of AI systems. Her goal is to foster more meaningful and impactful AI solutions in healthcare and beyond.
