Marvin Wiedemann

Team Leader Robotics Simulation and Learning Systems,

Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics

Marvin Wiedemann is Team Leader for Robotics Simulation and Learning Systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, working within the Department for Robotics and Cognitive Systems. His work focuses on the autonomy of mobile robots, contributing to the development of innovative and highly dynamic systems at Fraunhofer IML—such as the LoadRunner, evoBOT, and Odyn—that are redefining the future of logistics. While Marvin’s focus lies in enabling intelligent behavior through artificial intelligence and simulation-based learning, the strength of Fraunhofer IML lies in its ability to support the entire development chain—from the initial idea to the construction of real prototypes and their autonomous capabilities. By developing digital twins, learning pipelines, and exploring generative AI, Marvin and his team empower robotic systems to acquire new functionalities and adapt to complex real-world scenarios in logistics and beyond.
