Jurgen Hofkens

Jurgen Hofkens is a dynamic commercial and technical executive with 25+ years of experience leading technology-driven transformations and scaling high-performance teams. He builds and leads effective sales engineering and go-to-market organizations that deliver accelerated, non-linear business growth. As the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Solutions Engineering for EMEA & LATAM at NetApp, Jurgen leads the region's technical strategy and customer engagement — helping enterprises operationalize AI, strengthen data sovereignty and security, and maintain the flexibility to run workloads wherever needed: on-premises, at the edge, or in any cloud. Jurgen joined NetApp in May 2026. Prior to this, he spent nearly six years at Amazon Web Services as EMEA Head of Core Services and Advanced Compute Solutions. Jurgen also ran the AI infrastructure business across EMEA, leading both sales engineering and GTM activities. He is specialized in hybrid cloud, data and compute infrastructure with deep knowledge of AI training and inference infrastructure. Before AWS, Jurgen co-founded GIG Technology, serving as CEO/COO, where he architected distributed cloud solutions and a disaggregated block and object storage platform. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Alcatel-Lucent including CTO EMEA and Head of Sales Engineering, and SVP EMEA for IP Platforms. Jurgen partners tightly with sales, product, and marketing to build repeatable, scalable go-to-market engines. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Vlerick Business School, and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven."
