Heiko Lütjens

Heiko Lütjens is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in aerospace and defense industries. Since August 2025, he is a Member of the Executive Committee at Thales Deutschland GmbH. Currently, Heiko serves as CTO & Director Engineering at Thales Deutschland GmbH overseeing engineering activities across multiple German locations including Stuttgart, Koblenz, Kiel, and Wilhelmshaven since 2023. He has been Director Engineering Naval for Thales Germany since 2020. Prior to Thales, Heiko held senior positions at Airbus Group for over two decades, including Vice President roles overseeing the A380 program’s fuselage and cabin, engineering, and program recovery management. He also served as SVP at Airbus from 2018 to 2020. Between 2009 and 2018, he was Managing Director and CTO at Liebherr Aerospace and Transportation, where he contributed to aerospace and transportation technologies in Lindenberg and Toulouse. His voluntary commitments include chairing the Evaluation Research Committee for the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and holding advisory and board positions with various aerospace organizations such as BDLI, Bauhaus Luftfahrt, and DGLR, where he serves as Vice President and Treasurer.
