Lighting the Way to Quantum Advantage
Dr Volz is an experimental quantum physicist by training. He did his PhD at the Max-Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching near Munich, before moving on to a postdoc and senior scientist role at ETH Zurich. From there, he took on an academic position at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. During his professorship, he co-founded Redback Systems, a startup specializing in high-resolution optical spectroscopy. He joined Quandela in 2024 to build up the German subsidiary in Munich as a key semiconductor R&D and production facility.
