Dr Johannes Zeiher

Johannes Zeiher is Co-Founder and Principal Scientist of planqc, the company developing Germany’s first quantum computer based on neutral atoms. In addition to his role at planqc, he serves as Professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. After earning his PhD in Physics from LMU Munich, Zeiher gained international research experience, including as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2020, he has led his own research group at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. With planqc, he builds bridges between cutting-edge research and industrial application to advance the development of powerful quantum computers in Europe. His vision: quantum computers “Made in Europe” that not only enable scientific breakthroughs but also deliver concrete solutions for industry and society.
