Beyond the Hype: Hybrid Quantum-Classical AI Agents for Scientific Discovery – A Benchmark-Driven Reality Check
As a Research Coordinator at ARENA2036 and Research Strategist for Innovation and Emerging Technologies, I work in coordinating science, engineering, and future-driven transformation. With a dual Ph.D. (Dr/Dr.-Ing) from the University of Stuttgart and Swinburne University, my background combines mechanical engineering, simulation technology, and intelligent systems, enabling me to translate complex research into scalable industrial solutions. My current focus lies in integrating classical AI, AutoML, and Quantum Machine Learning (QML) into real-world manufacturing environments. From CAE and robotics to digital twins and automation, I develop model based design and explainable frameworks that advance the vision of Industry 5.0 supporting predictive control, process optimization, and smart, sustainable production across sectors like automotive, smart factories, and advanced composites. At the same time, I am actively engaged in shaping responsible innovation aligning AI advancements with emerging ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks, such as the EU AI Act, to ensure transparent, accountable, and human-centric deployment of technology in industrial ecosystems
