Dr-Ing Michael Tagscherer

Dr.-Ing. Michael Tagscherer is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the G+D Giesecke+Devrient Group. Since joining G+D in 2001, he has held a range of international leadership roles across product management, telecommunications, enterprise security, mobile security, and corporate technology. He spent several years in China and Asia leading the APAC telecommunications business before assuming global portfolio responsibility for G+D’s Enterprise Security / OEM division. In 2017, he became CTO of G+D Mobile Security and, in 2019, Group CTO of the newly established Corporate Technology Office. His technology focus includes artificial intelligence and data analytics, trustworthy AI and machine learning, data science, decentralized solution, secure cloud solutions, biometrics, quantum computing, and post-quantum cryptography. Michael studied computer science and electronic engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), FORWISS Erlangen, and the Technical University Chemnitz. His PhD research focused on applying artificial neural networks to industrial process automation, optimization, and data-driven prediction in collaboration with Siemens.
