Demian Niemeyer

Demian Niemeyer is a fully qualified lawyer and works as an AI Regulatory Expert at the appliedAI Institute. He studied law in Frankfurt am Main, specialising in International Relations and the EU, and completed his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law in a Digital Economy in Lisbon in 2022. Driven by his interest in emerging technologies, he works on the grey areas of AI regulation. His focus is on how innovators in highly regulated fields such as drones, healthcare, emotion recognition and robotics can still find room to experiment and take risks. He welcomes any discussion on how to balance regulation with space for creativity and innovation.
