Colonel (GS) Gerald Schreiber

Colonel (GS) Dipl.-Ing. Gerald Schreiber is Head of Branch Innovation and Cyber II 4 – National and International Digital/Cyber/IT Policy; IT Strategy and Attribution – since 2022 and acting Head of Sub-Division Innovation and Cyber II at the Federal Ministry of Defence. Prior to this, he held a senior position within the area of responsibility of the Bundeswehr CIO, responsible for cyber, IT, AI, frequency and cybersecurity policy, as well as international cooperation, particularly within the NATO and EU contexts. Schreiber has served in the Bundeswehr since 1987 and possesses extensive leadership and staff experience in key information and communication technology roles, including as Deputy Commander of the Bundeswehr School of Information Technology, Commander of the Air Force’s Command Support Centre, and in various positions at the Federal Ministry of Defence. He also has experience from deployments abroad in Afghanistan, and comprehensive expertise at the intersection of military operations planning, IT security, training and multinational cooperation.
