Walid Mehanna is the Chief Data & AI Officer at Merck. A passionate advocate for both people and technology, Walid leads Merck’s global data and AI ecosystem, championing a values-driven approach to data culture. He chairs the Merck Digital Ethics Advisory Panel, which sets guiding principles for the responsible use of digital innovation. 

Before joining Merck, he served as Chief Data Officer at Mercedes-Benz and worked in management consulting at Horváth. With nearly three decades of experience at the intersection of startups, technology, and consulting, Walid brings a deep understanding of how business and IT can come together to drive impact. His mission is to create sustainable growth through trusted data and meaningful AI.
