Dr Stefan Knecht
Stefan Knecht is the Lead Quantum Chemist at Algorithmiq. He has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Heidelberg and earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Düsseldorf in Germany in 2009. In addition, he obtained in 2018 the Venia Legendi in Theoretical Chemistry from ETH Zürich. In 2020, he received the Nernst-Habe-Bodenstein prize in Physical Chemistry from the German Physical Chemistry Society ("Bunsengesellschaft”).
His research focuses on high-performance classical and quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry applications in biomedical and life sciences. He also leads the Quantum Simulations group for Drug Discovery under the umbrella of the Healthcare and Life Science working group of IBM and partners.
