Towards Quantum Advantage in the Energy Sector

Over the past 5 years, E.ON has been investigating where quantum computing may be applied to revolutionise the energy sector. The current electrical grid is undergoing a vast digital transformation and innovative tools will be required to bring Europes grid infrastructure into the next generation. In this talk, we will discuss the challenges of identifying the right use-cases for applied quantum computing applications and highlight some recent work the company has been intensively working on to demonstrate quantum advantage.
