Quantum Workforce: Who and How?
22 September 2026, 17:00 - 18:00
Workshop Room 2
Building the quantum workforce is one of the major bottlenecks for bringing quantum technologies into industrial practice. While the European Competence Framework for Quantum Technologies (CFQT) provides a structured overview of the knowledge, skills, and qualification profiles relevant to the field, the QUANTiFaID study by Stifterverband seeks to describe and quantify future expert needs. Following two short talks introducing these initiatives, participants will split into two interactive tracks:
Track A: Quantum Industry and Workforce Needs
For representatives of quantum companies and organizations. Building on the findings of the QUANTiFaID study, participants will discuss selected results, workforce challenges, and possible strategies for addressing identified needs. The discussion will also inform the second phase of the research project.
Track B: Pathways into Quantum Technologies (Change to C03)
For students, professionals, career changers, and anyone considering a move into the quantum field. Participants will use the CFQT to reflect on their current competences and career goals, engage with role models from different backgrounds, and explore pathways into quantum technologies through initiatives such as QVLS and the Deep Tech Collective."
