Panel: Transformative AI Developments and AGI: What Must Germany and Europe Do Now?

Extrapolating current trend lines and aggregating expert forecasts, the probability that AGI – AI that matches or exceeds human cognitive performance across all or almost all domains – will emerge between 2030 and 2040, or even earlier, is significant. The implications of such a scenario – for security, the economy, society, and sovereignty – would be enormous, to say the least.

In this panel, we will discuss with leading politicians, representatives from frontier AI labs, and prominent AI researchers what they make of the evidence and what political action it demands.
