How Will Quantum Computing Transform AI and Optimization?

Quantum computers offer superpolynomial quantum advantages for a number of selected problems. But it seems much less obvious to find practical applications in AI and global optimization, while such problems are particularly important for industrial applications. In this talk, we will provide a rigorous, excited but sober perspective on what we can expect for quantum computers to provide robust quantum advantages.
