Physical AI Use Cases Across Various Industries
Berlin, 17 June 2026 – Physical AI represents a new phase in artificial intelligence, in which AI systems no longer process exclusively digital information, but instead perceive, make decisions, and act within physical environments. The interplay of AI, sensor technology, robotics, and software-supported decision-making processes gives rise to systems that understand and help shape processes—from industrial production to energy and mobility systems, and on to logistics, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. This white paper demonstrates how Physical AI approaches are currently being tested and implemented across various industries. Using real-world examples from companies, it becomes clear how AI-supported systems improve operational processes and reduce the workload on skilled workers. The practical examples also demonstrate that the greatest benefits arise particularly where automation reaches its limits and adaptive solutions are required. At the same time, the use cases highlight the structural, organizational, and regulatory requirements that must be met in order to scale Physical AI. Download the report (in German) here.
