AI takes off, quantum moves up the agenda: AIDAQ 2026 turns future technologies into practical applications

Berlin, 5 August 2026. This year, artificial intelligence is breaking through across the German economy: around 41 per cent of companies now use AI - almost twice as many as a year ago. Eighty-one per cent believe AI is the most important technology of the future. Meanwhile, another key technology, quantum computing, is attracting growing attention from research institutions, academia and industry. It could fundamentally reshape existing markets within just a few years.

At the same time, regulatory requirements and security-policy considerations around the use of AI and quantum technologies are becoming more demanding. How can the safeguards needed for data, infrastructure and technological sovereignty be reconciled with the ability to innovate and economic competitiveness?

At the AI, Data and Quantum Summit 2026 (AIDAQ), more than 2,500 experts from politics, business and academia will come together to discuss practical applications, technological developments, policy frameworks and security requirements surrounding the use of artificial intelligence, data and quantum technologies.

The event is also becoming increasingly international: numerous international speakers, partners and side events bring perspectives from different countries and markets, fostering cross-border exchange among experts.

More than 200 high-profile speakers make AIDAQ 2026 one of Europe's most important conferences for emerging technologies. Federal Minister for Research Dorothee Bär will open the event in Berlin on 22 September 2026.

Putting AI and quantum technologies into practice

From AI agents to quantum hardware, AIDAQ 2026 will focus on practical use cases, best practice and the impact of new regulatory requirements on the deployment of AI and quantum technologies.

This year's programme focuses on:

Strategy, governance and competitiveness: The focus is on regulatory and policy frameworks for AI and quantum technologies, building resilient technology and supply chains, and the importance of both key technologies for security and defence, technological sovereignty and the protection of critical infrastructure.

Applications and market maturity: The programme will showcase practical applications of AI and quantum technologies in key sectors such as manufacturing, mobility, financial services and healthcare. It will also address the integration of these technologies into existing IT and high-performance computing infrastructure.

Technological innovation: Discussions will cover advances in foundation models, data and computing infrastructure, and the efficient development and secure operation of AI systems. In quantum computing, the focus is on advancing hardware and software, scalable and fault-tolerant systems, and their integration into existing high-performance computing systems.
